Without giving away too much information, I will set the scene of what the Nurses in Action program looks like and how we’ll be spending our time…

When signing up for a NIA program volunteers commit to a one month placement as part of a team with a Team Leader and an Assistant Team Leader (ATL). World Youth have created two programs running back to back that have the same outline. Katy (Team Leader) and I are required to lead both teams.

Katy and I arrive in Kenya 10 days before the first team of volunteers arrive to orientate ourselves to Odede (the community we will be working in) and to settle into the Kenyan culture.
